WaterWise has taught over sixty (60) thousands participants, who were interested in learning about sustainable gardening. The participants ranged from novice homeowners to professional landscapers. WaterWise’s technique combined theoretical concepts with practical application into an easy and understandable set of classes. Classes were taught in English or Spanish throughout the country, but the majority of them were taught in California.

WaterWise instructors where instrumental in helping to develop the California Friendly Landscape Training (CFLT) program, formerly known as Protector del Agua, for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Staff continues to teach this program and encourages further academic education for professionals to broaden their knowledge of the industry and enhance their careers.

WaterWise instructors are fully trained and have various areas of expertise. Some areas include horticulture, sustainable landscaping, irrigation design, landscape installation, landscape management, as well as California native and drought-tolerant plant selection. Most of our instructors are Landscape Irrigation Auditors certified by the Irrigation Association.

This year WaterWise is proud to present its new stable of instructors ready to teach classes in the two sections listed below.

WaterWell - Water Efficient Landscape Learning is geared to the homeowner and professional landscaper. It teaches participants various topics to help assist with water conservation in the landscape.

WaterWise U – WaterWise University is directed toward water agency staff members, who want to learn more about water conservation and techniques to measuring water use. This covers training indoors and outdoors.
