West Basin Municipal Water District
Landscape Irrigation Efficiency Program
![]() West Basin Municipal Water District’s new program, Water Reliability 2020, is designed to increase local water supplies while decreasing demand for imported water. One of the main goals of this program as it relates to WaterWise is to reduce water usage 20% by 2020. As a result, the landscape Irrigation Efficiency Program was created. The Landscape Irrigation Efficiency Program will provide surveys and high-efficiency irrigation nozzles to residents as well as Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional (CII) customers within West basin’s service area. This program is projected to save about 1,500 acre-feet of water over the life of the retrofit devices. Qualified participants will receive a survey of their landscape irrigation system, a list of recommended retrofits and improvements, a customized water budget, and a unique irrigation schedule. This program will also provide the installation of high-efficiency sprinkler nozzles. The goals of this program are to educate customers about conservation initiatives, conduct landscape irrigation surveys, and retrofit sprinklers with high-efficiency nozzles throughout West basin’s service areas.
